Behaviour modelling notation for information system design

Problems related to behaviour modelling within the platform independent model (PIM) during the model driven design are discussed in the paper. The emphasis is on design problems for information systems, especially on building a behaviour draft. At first issues in the traditional approach using sequence diagrams are discussed. Then a new approach based on activity diagrams is proposed. An extension of activity diagram notation specifically oriented towards comprehensive and readable behaviour design description is presented.

Impact of parasitoid-associated polydnaviruses on plant-mediated herbivore interactions

Insect herbivores interact via plant-mediated interactions in which one herbivore species induces changes in plant quality that affects the performance of a second phytophagous insect that shares the food plant. These interactions are often asymmetric due to specificity in induced plant responses to herbivore attack, amount of plant damage, elicitors in herbivore saliva and plant organ damaged by herbivores. Parasitoids and their symbiotic polydnaviruses alter herbivore physiology and behaviour and may influence how plants respond to parasitized herbivores. Thermodynamic Parameters for the Protonation of Poly(allylamine) in concentrated LiCl(aq) and NaCl(aq)

The acid-base properties of poly(allylamine) (MW ) 15 kDa) were determined by potentiometry and calorimetry in aqueous solutions at t ) 25 °C. Potentiometric measurements were carried out in a wide range of ionic strengths (0.1 e I/molâL-1 e 5.0) in NaCl(aq) and LiCl(aq), while enthalpy changes for the protonation of poly(allylamine) were determined by calorimetry in the same ionic strength range but only in NaCl(aq). Analysis of the experimental data was carried out using two different models: the first based on a modified Henderson-Hasselbalch two parameter equation and the second on the three parameter equation proposed by Ho¨gfeldt. Magnetic Monopole Search with the Full MoEDAL Trapping Detector in 13 TeV pp Collisions Interpreted in Photon-Fusion and Drell-Yan Production

MoEDAL is designed to identify new physics in the form of stable or pseudostable highly ionizing particles produced in high-energy Large Hadron Collider (LHC) collisions. Here we update our previous search for magnetic monopoles in Run 2 using the full trapping detector with almost four times more material and almost twice more integrated luminosity. For the first time at the LHC, the data were interpreted in terms of photon-fusion monopole direct production in addition to the Drell-Yan-like mechanism. International audience; Nuclear fragmentation processes are relevant in different fields of basic research and applied physics and are of particular interest for tumor therapy and for space radiation protection applications. The FIRST (Fragmentation of Ions Relevant for Space and Therapy) experiment at SIS accelerator of GSI laboratory in Darmstadt, has been designed for the measurement of different ions fragmentation cross sections at different energies between 100 and 1000 MeV/nucleon. The serendipitous impact of COVID-19 pandemic: A rare opportunity for research and practice

Highlights • The Covid-19 pandemic is a rare opportunity to examine some fundamental aspects of IM and IS research and practice. • There are at least three areas where the pandemic has impacted practice: information management, work practices and design of technologies. • The IS discipline has appropriate methods and theories to study the design of technologies and social interactions. • Concepts such as “social distancing” that has emerged in the pandemic need to be studied through philosophical premises. • The IM practices that emerge after the pandemic is over, will be shaped by how well we seize the opportunity to learn from the pandemic.

On the electronic coupling of the C=O stretching vibrations in Cl(2)Pt(malonate)(-).

Ab initio calculations on the complex Cl(2)Pt(malonate)(-) have been performed to estimate the magnitude and the source of the splitting between the symmetric and antisymmetric C=O stretches. It is shown that a large part of the splitting can result from pure electronic coupling mediated via the pi-structure of the ligand. Calculations have also been performed on the free ligand malonate(-) and the neutral malonaldehyde that show decreasing electronic coupling, which is consistent with the decreasing resonance stabilization. A simple effective C=O interaction potential has been produced for Cl(2)Pt(malonate)(-) that is used to estimate the electronic splitting of the 1600 cm(-1) IR band to …
